The Religion Essay

when I was in the third grade I was supened for three
days because I waas saying grace over my lunch and one
of the lunch aids heard me saying " God is good, God
is grace, and we thank him for our food, must be feed
daily bread, Amen, thank you Jesus." then she took me
to the office and I was written up for mixing church
and state. As a young girl I didn't know that you were
not allowed to mix church and tsate as well as I
didn't know my constintutional rights. I have the
right to freedom of speech, press, and religion. To me
I think that religion should be taught in school
because it will help to teach other students about
different religions and the values and teachings of
the religion. So when you run into some one with a
different religion you won't be ignorent to there
religion.

while looking on the internet i found a lot of
information about prayer in school. I found out that
for are allowed to read their Bibles or other
scriptures, say grace before meals, and pray or study
religious materials with fellow students during
recess, the lunch hour, or other non-instructional
time. But at the same time they dont really want
prayer or religion in school. If you write a poem of
story that has some type of religion conection it
can't be rewarded even if its relly good becasue it
has some contents of religion. this is the
quote:"Thus, if a teacher's assignment involves
writing a poem, the work of a student who submits a
poem in the form of a prayer (for example, a psalm)
should be judged on the basis of academic standards
(such as literary quality) and neither penalized nor
rewarded on account of its religious content." For
example a couple of years ago there was a boy that wa
sa straight a studdenta nd valdictorian of his school.
he wrote a speech for graduation and they wouldn't let
him say his speech becaus e it was giving thanks to
"God". They told him if he don't take God out of his
speech than he can't march. he told" that he is not
take god out of his speech and that God is the reason
that he got to where he was. wihtout God he would not
have made it." they did let hoim march but he couldn't
say his speech. the presdent had his family under
full protection. so for that i do believe that you
dshould have reliogon in school so you can have a good
understanding of different religions.
